We understand these are difficult times for everyone and renewing your Subscription is not a priority. If you have not renewed your 2020/21 Subscription, please know that we will not be releasing your Subscription seats and they will remain at the renewal price, until further notice. Our offices are now closed to keep our staff and patrons safe. But a limited number of staff members are working remotely from their homes to offer customer service.

Covid-19 Related FAQ's For Subscribers
Our current plan is to present a 6 Show Main Season and 3 Show Off-Mirvish package as part of the 2020/21 Subscription Season. Currently, none of the shows have been cancelled. The beginning of the season has been adjusted to now being in January 2021.  
Under normal circumstances we would have been able to inform you of your Subscription request by now.  With Covid-19 forcing us to cancel many shows, our Audience Services staff have been busy dealing with the more than 250,000 people affected by these cancellations and re-bookings. We will be sure to get to all the Subscription requests as soon as possible.  We will inform you of the status of your request by the end of the summer.  Thank you for your patience.

There is no change to your instalment plan.  We are currently deferring the second and subsequent payments by three months for both renewing and new Subscribers.

Yes, you can still renew and receive all the great benefits of Subscribing, including paying the lower renewal price.  You can renew by logging into your account or by calling 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333 from Monday to Friday 9:00AM - 4:30PM.

By Subscribing, you have the comfort of knowing that, when the time is right, you can return to your seat to enjoy a spectacular season of theatre!  It’s also a great way to show support for the people who work in the performing arts in general and at Mirvish Productions in particular: the artists on stage, the creative teams and artisans that create each show, the backstage staff, the front-of house staff, the box office and ticket agents, the administrative workers, and all those whose livelihoods depend on a busy and thriving cultural sector. At this time the four Mirvish theatres in Toronto will remain closed and will only reopen when health officials declare that it is safe again for people to gather together in public spaces.

When a show is cancelled, the most secure and efficient way to deal with the value of tickets is to automatically turn the total amount (the face value of the ticket plus any service charges) into Mirvish account credits for each original purchaser.

This guarantees that you will not lose your money and that your personal information, such as credit card details, are not compromised.

These credits will live in your Mirvish/TicketKing account and are yours to use as you choose in the future.

You can use the credits to purchase tickets to any future show and/or to pay for a subscription.

You can even choose to turn part or all of the credits into a gift card, which would make a very thoughtful and entertaining gift.

Credits never expire and can be converted into a full cash refund at any time. They offer the most flexibility.

You actually don’t have to do anything. We will automatically credit your account with the full value of your tickets (including all service fees). 

As soon as a new credit is issued to you, you will receive a credit confirmation email that will include the total amount of the credit in your account.

If you have tickets to more than one cancelled show, you will receive an email with the full amount of credit issued.

Please watch your mailbox in the next few days for your credit confirmation email(s).

A Mirvish credit is also the best way to support the performing arts as it will provide future work for the artists, backstage artisans, ushers, box office personnel and all the other people who make theatre possible in Toronto. A credit is your vote of confidence in the return of a strong and vibrant artistic community.

Once you have a credit, you may want to convert it into a refund.

Refunds have to be handled more carefully because of the personal information involved, notably your private credit card number.

Whenever you make a purchase, to mitigate any security compromise, we never retain the number in our systems. Therefore to be able to complete a refund we will need the credit card number again.

The most efficient process for refunds is to fill out our online form. We will need your name, email address, the best phone number to reach you at, and your customer number (7 digit number). If you've already submitted the form with your request, no further action is required at this time.

One of our agents will reach out to you for your credit card details. For added security, the agent will ask you to phone them back at our regular TicketKing number — 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333.

We beg your patience because this process is very time-consuming.

To apply your credit to a renewed 2020/21 Subscription on an instalment plan or towards your un-renewed Subscription seats, you may email subscriptions@mirvish.com with your subscriber number or call 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333.

The original deadline to renew your 2019/20 Subscription fell during the beginning of the self-isolation action against the virus. So we have extended it until further notice.

We have kept your seats and we will honour the renewal price; so it is not too late to renew and take your place in the 2020/21 Season.

Mirvish money on the Subscriber card will be extended until December 31, 2020, unless you have renewed for the 2020/21 Subscription Season. In that case it does not expire. The Mirvish money on your card has no cash value and cannot be refunded.

Due to a scheduling conflict, HELLO, DOLLY! was replaced in the 2019/20 season with THE BOY FRIEND. We hope to bring HELLO, DOLLY! to Toronto audiences in the future.

The full value of your cancelled tickets will be issued to you automatically as a credit in your Mirvish account which can be used, just like cash on any future Mirvish purchase. Refunds are available upon request as well.

We are in discussions with the producers of  HAMILTON for a return engagement as soon as it is safe to do so and as soon as it can be arranged by them.

Mirvish subscribers whose performance was cancelled will have first priority access to tickets to the return engagement at the same prices and sections as the original run.

Unfortunately, this feature on our new ticketing system is not yet available.

On February 6th, 2020 we switched ticketing software. The process of switching from one system to another is not simple. It requires a large staff solely dedicated to the switch. It also needs a lot of time; in total, three months to make the switch.

Unfortunately, one month into the switching process we had an uninvited visitor: COVID-19. As you know, this virus has disrupted everything in our society and our way of life. Because of this virus we have not had time to complete the changeover.

This means, at this point, you can’t access the details of your account online. It will take a few more months for this function to be working.

We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you we are working as quickly and diligently as we can to make this happen. We beg your patience.

In the meantime, if you would like to check the details of your account you will need to speak with one of our phone agents at at 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333. Please note the lines are very busy at this time resulting in longer than usual wait times.

This is an excellent question and one for which we do not yet have an answer.

In normal times, a refund could take two to five days, depending on the speed of the processing company and your credit company.

Here’s how it works:

1) We issue a refund on your credit card.

2) A processing company, such as Moneris, who deals with many of credit card transactions in Canada, then takes this information, confirms it and passes it to the credit company or bank.

3) The credit company or bank then returns the money to your account.

In these unprecedented times, this process is taking much longer than usual for these reasons:

1) As we explained earlier, there are over 250,000 tickets to process and they all have to be done manually. This takes time.

2) The processing company is also overwhelmed with all the activity they have to deal with.

3) The banks, too, are dealing with volumes they never had to deal with before.

All this is to say that the entire process will take much longer than anticipated.

Please be assured that your money will not be lost. We will get it all back in the form that you request. Thank you for your patience.

In consideration of the rapidly evolving situation around Coronarvirus-19 and the recommendations made by Public Health Ontario and Toronto Public Health we have made the decision to postpone our public on sale date until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and to stay in contact with government and health organisations in Canada to ensure we are following the very latest advice.
