Wow! We’ve been at this now for seven weeks. By this, we mean our online e-magazine — designed to provide you with some theatrical entertainment while our theatres are closed (and they’ve been closed almost 10 weeks). We’ve been making the most of this “pause” and having a lot of fun creating Meanwhile; we hope you, too, are enjoying it.

In this issue: Steffi and Lisa (we think we should call them S’n’L from now on) check in with the three young actresses who shared the title role in Matilda The Musical in 2016. They were children four years ago; now they are teenagers. So S’n’L explore the theme, Revolting Children — Teenagers in Isolation.

The response to Meanwhile has been great so we’ve added more for you to read, view, listen to and enjoy.

This week's edition has something for everyone including Name That (Show) Tune, the second installment of Check In From Away, a sneak peek at our Dress-Up-To-Win entries, a new section called, "Did You Know?" which features tidbits of little-known facts brought to you by the encyclopedic minds of Mirvish employees, an exclusive 115-song playlist, and much more.

This week we're thrilled to introduce an exciting new feature brought to you by two members of the company of Come From Away — actor Steffi DiDomenicantonio (known to friends as Steffi D; she plays Janice, the young Rogers TV reporter, and other roles) and stage manager Lisa Humber.  Steffi and Lisa are your affable hosts for Check In From Away, a video chat show that checks in with theatre professionals — actors, writers, directors, musicians and perhaps even “professional” audience members — about what they are doing in these unprecedented and interesting times. The first Check In From Away episode features interviews with - you guessed it - the cast of Come From Away.

Last week we called on you to submit your videos of Hakuna Matata in order to help celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Disney's The Lion King opening in Toronto. This exercise inspired a theme for this week's Meanwhile: Superfans.

In this week's edition we explore the phenomenon of the Superfan. We share the compilation of videos submitted for Hakuna Matata, we reminisce with the original Toronto cast about their memories from opening night (wouldn't you know it, each and every one talks about the fans). We also introduce a brand new feature brought to you by cast members of Come From Away called, Check In From Away. Finally, here are this week's Slogan Campaign winners!

We continue to get great ideas for our marquee challenge. Check out the selected winners for this week below. Plus, in this week's edition of Meanwhile, Mirvish Staff shares what they're watching on Netflix, a great story about The Chorus Line, from The Archive and we do a throwback to some of our favourite videos from the Mirvish YouTube channel.

We look forward to the time we can all return to the theatre, take our seat and see the curtain rise. In the meanwhile, be well, stay safe and stay strong.

Wow! The response from our first issue of Meanwhile sent last week has been staggering. We received over 3,300 responses to our Marquee Contest and had dozens of meaningful theatre stories shared with us.

This week, we invite you to participate in a 5-day theatre trivia challenge, we share our first winner from our Marquee Contest as well as the selected story from our Patron's Corner! There's links to experience free theatre, a fantastic story about the Ghost Light at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, plus a new song written by Ron Jacobson, the General Manager of the Mirvish Theatres!
